For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and the treatment and control of ticks, ear mites, demodex mites and sarcoptic mange on dogs
For the treatment and prevention of flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) infestations

  • Rapidly kills fleas within four to eight hours of treatment
  • Breaks the flea life cycle by killing adult fleas before they can lay eggs - eliminating the risk of further environmental infestation
  • Can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD)
  • Persistent flea killing activity and protection for a full month
  • Treats and controls paralysis ticks (Ixodes holocyclus), brown dog ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) and bush ticks (Haemaphysalis longicornis)
  • Kills paralysis tick
  • Persistent tick killing activity and protection for a full month

In tick season, daily searching for, and removal of, any ticks found is recommended
For the treatment and control of ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), demodex mites (Demodex canis) and sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei)

Directions For Use

  • For use in puppies from 8 weeks of age and weighing 2.8 lb (1.3 kg) or more
  • For oral use
  • Remove one chew from the foil backed blister card at the time of monthly treatment
  • Offer to the dog as a treat – it is a highly palatable flavoured chewable tablet, so it is generally readily consumed by dogs
  • If the tablets are not taken voluntarily by the dog they can also be given with a small amount of food or directly into the mouth

Chews should not be divided into smaller portions – select an appropriate chew size for the dogs body weight

Treatment Schedule

  • For optimal treatment and control of fleas and ticks
  • The product should be administered at regular monthly intervals
  • Treatment with Simparica may begin at any time of the year
  • If a flea infestation already exists, fleas can continue to emerge into the environment for weeks to months - because of the continuing development of existing flea eggs, larvae and pupae already present before the time of treatment - it may take more than a single treatment to achieve acceptable flea control
  • Treatment should continue without interruption all year round - breaks in protection can allow for an environmental flea burden to re-establish
  • To minimise the likelihood of flea re-infestation, it is important to treat all dogs and cats within the household - Simparica is approved for use in dogs only - check product labels for an appropriate approved flea control for use in cats

For the treatment of ear mites (Otodectes cynotis)

  • The product should be administered for two consecutive months
  • Cleansing of the affected ears is recommended to remove the debris associated with ear mites

For the treatment of sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis)

  • The product should be administered for two consecutive months

For the treatment of demodicosis (Demodex canis) infestations

  • The product should be administered monthly until the absence of mites is confirmed by two consecutive monthly skin scrapings done by your veterinarian

General Directions

  • Safe in various breeds of dog across a broad weight range, when administered according to the dosage schedule
  • Safe for use in puppies from weeks of age and weighing over 2.8lb (1.3 kg)
  • During testing, no adverse reactions were observed when Simparica was used with other treatments - may be administered in conjunction with vaccines, gastrointestinal worming treatments, heartworm preventatives, antibiotics, and corticosteroids when used according to label directions
  • Well tolerated in dogs when administered with macrocyclic lactone
  • Well tolerated in ivermectin-sensitive Collie dogs
  • The safe use of SIMPARICA has not been evaluated in breeding dogs and pregnant or lactating bitches
